My Bodhisattva Art Project
About This Resource
Details
This activity has been a favorite for the students at the Middle Way School in New York and was incorporated into their Rites of Passage. Art teacher Diana Jensen facilitated and documented the creativity and inspiration that flowed from the students. Each student designed their own bodhisattva with a mission, attributes, implements and a story. The resource contains two worksheets and instructions.
A bodhisattva is an especially wise and kind person. Bodhi means awake, Sattva means being. Put them together and we have an awakened being. Bodhisattvas find great joy in helping others. Some bodhisattvas specialize in a particular type of help. For example Quan Yin specializes in compassion. Manjushri specializes in wisdom and clarity. Saraswati specializes in creativity. Tell us about your Bodhisattva!
