Lotus Light Dharma School in Chapagaon, Nepal was opened in July 2019. Suitable for 150 monks, this Dharma school was opened to support the education of our future Dharma teachers for decades and decades to come. Students receive instruction in subjects such as English, Mathematics and General Sciences. In 1990, the Karma Leksheyling Shedra was established with the purpose to give the sons of Himalayan Buddhist families an education combined with monastic training, the study of philosophy and logic, and religious history. Classes in computer skills and English are also offered. In 2002 the Institute moved to its present premises where a Secondary School for classes 1 to 8 was added in 2007. It is a regular school approved by the Nepalese government combined with a full monastic training. In 2017 there were around 250 monks and nuns.
