The College for Higher Buddhist Studies (Thrangu Tara Abbey Shedra) was inaugurated in March 2004. Currently there are 53 nuns studying in an eight-year program. Four teachers are nuns who completed their studies at the Central Institute for Higher Buddhist Studies in Sarnath, India.
