LESSON: 6 Points of Mindful Speaking and Listening (Part 1)
Download exercises, PP and lesson to introduce children to practice of Mindful Speaking and Listening based on Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s 6 Points of Mindful Speech, developed over the course of studies at Naropa University. I have utilized with middle grade and high school level students. They have a wide range of applications in English Language Arts:
- A Contemplative approach: Introduces utilizing speaking and listening as a point of contemplation, a useful skill in self-calming and a way to develop compassion.
- An English studies approach: Supports students to self-calm as speaker and introduces opportunity to be at home in and utilize silence and helps develop a balanced skill in being a speaker and a listener (helps in presenting and collaboration ELA works).
Note: This can be modified for younger students/children
